AUSTIN – The Carbon Neutral Coalition (CNC) today released a statement on the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) decision to halt its redesignation of the Permian Basin which could have led to massive regulations, severely hampering Texas’ ability to produce oil and gas and provide reliable energy for the state and nation.
“Today’s decision by the EPA to halt its redesignation of the Permian Basin is a win for Texas and America, said CNC Founder, Corbin Robertson Jr. “President Biden must stop attacking Texas’ energy sector and instead invest in smart technologies like carbon capture utilization and storage (CCUS) which will preserve the oil and gas industry and our environment, while ensuring our nation’s energy needs are met. CNC is grateful to Governor Abbott and his administration for their efforts to stop this draconian rule and looks forward to working with them in ensuring the Lone Star State remains a global energy powerhouse.”
ABOUT THE CARBON NEUTRAL COALITION
The Carbon Neutral Coalition (CNC) is seeking to establish the infrastructure that will incentivize the energy industry to cut their carbon emissions by utilizing Carbon Capture Utilization and Storage (CCUS). The CNC will work with existing oil and gas and energy stakeholders to advocate that the state create the regulatory framework to establish this infrastructure and ensure the preservation of the energy industry in Texas.
