AUSTIN – The Carbon Neutral Coalition(CNC) today praised the Railroad Commission of Texas (RRC) for its proposed rule change to gain primacy from the EPA for Class VI injection wells, which if approved, would mean operators would only need to apply to the RRC to gain permitting. CNC founder, Corbin Robertson Jr. released the following statement:
“We thank the RRC for proposing this rule change to give Texas primacy from the EPA in this area. Carbon capture at scale will be important to the future of fossil fuels in Texas and energy jobs. Primacy will give Texas the chance to set our future course toward a cleaner environment and more energy jobs.”
